The industrial engine market is far ahead of the truck and passenger car markets in the use of propane and natural gas. Buck's and GM Powertrain build all of their industrial engines with the capability of being fueled by propane or natural gas. However, these fuels present special challenges. Propane and natural gas have higher octane ratings than gasoline, but also a lower lubricity. Our engines are specifically designed to handle the increased frictions associated with these fuels' unique configurations. These special features incorporated into our industrial engines ensure a long, efficient engine life, no matter what the choice of fuel.
